Hello

I'm glad you're here.  Everyone deserves compassionate, high-quality mental health care. To achieve clinical excellence, I stay apprised of current literature relating to evidence-based practice and continually refine my clinical skills through ongoing education.  Let me tell you a little bit more about myself.

Professional Background and Training

Prior to transitioning to private practice, I oversaw partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs for children, adolescents and adults who struggle with OCD- and anxiety- related disorders, ARFID and depression.  As lead therapist at Rogers Behavioral Health in Los Angeles, I provided clinical direction to therapists informed by evidenced-based modalities including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Behavioral Activation (BA) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).  Additionally, I assisted in developing and implementing the ARFID/ Severe Picky Eating Recovery PHP/ IOP program.

I have also served some of the highest need children involved with California's juvenile justice and child welfare systems.  As a Primary Therapist at Star View Adolescent Center, I treated children and adolescents that require the most restrictive levels of care to ensure their own safety and the safety of others.  I employed Attachment, Regulation and Competency (ARC), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) informed interventions to treat complex developmental trauma while encouraging skill development that enhances the ability to inhibit crisis urges including urges to engage in self-injury, suicidal behavior, aggression and substance use.

I received my Bachelor of Arts from Goucher College in Towson, Maryland.  I earned a Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California.  During graduate study, I participated in a global immersion program at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences in Mumbai, India where I contributed to the ongoing development of social entrepreneurship initiatives.

I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF).  My commitment to competence demands that I serve clients at the best of my ability by staying informed of current developments in the field and continually honing clinical skills.

Diversity Statement

I recognize the dignity and worth of every person and approach others with the intention of honoring their beliefs, customs and values.  Each person’s unique experience of the world is finely tuned by biological, spiritual, psychological and environmental factors.  I am unable to understand all of the factors that precipitate another human being’s circumstance and behavioral choices but I can take a nonjudgmental stance.  I engage in an ongoing process of introspection and self-critique combined with a willingness to learn from others.  I practice self-compassion and assume that others are also doing the best they can.  I promote the socially responsible self-determination of clients and endeavor to advance social justice.
